Training
In 2011, maintaining continuous training for all hospital per-
sonnel was a major challenge, given budget restrictions.
However, a great effort was made to continue fulfilling the
needs of the organization from the perspective of impro-
ving the skills of the hospital’s professionals.
Bearing this in mind, management promoted and favoured
continuous training in areas of updating knowledge and
taking advantage of professional knowledge, skills and
competences using training methods and modalities that
are effective and efficient in terms of cost, scope and logis-

In 2011, the preliminary report of the specific assessment of
psychosocial risk at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital was
finished. This assessment aims to identify the working con-
ditions that can affect the physical, mental and social
health of professionals so that intervention mechanisms
can be put in place to reduce these risks. The purpose of
this preventive action is not only to reduce the evident
effects on health, but to have a positive impact by increa-
sing the work quality and performance.
This report was presented to the hospital’s Management
Committee and the Health and Safety Committee. An
informative document was also prepared for professionals
and published on the hospital intranet. In 2012, the working
groups will start analysing the results obtained and impro-
vement actions will be drawn up to reduce the psychosocial
