Corporate Social Responsibility
The Vall d’Hebron University Hospital is a modern, innova-
tive public hospital that is sensitive to its social surroun-
dings. Its mission is based on respect for the people who
work at the hospital and the firm commitment to users and
society in general through responsible professional practi-
ce that is committed to the social, professional and econo-
mic context.
The implementation of plans for quality and safety in
patient care allows for efficient healthcare and the respon-
sible use of available resources. With regard to new techno-
logies, the use of robotics makes it possible to perform pro-
cedures with the greatest level of complexity with excellent
results. At the same time, communication and information
technologies make it possible to work with a high level of
security when handling patient data; shared clinical records
and electronic clinical prescriptions are good examples.
Regarding environmental management and waste strate-
gies, the hospital promotes the efficient use of available
resources and compliance with standard ISO 14000 on the
reduction of the environmental impact and standard ISO
9000 on quality and continuous quality management. The
hospital’s efficiency in waste management is guaranteed
through the actions of the Waste Commission, which en-
sures the guidelines indicated in the intra-centre Waste
Guide are followed.
